Frequently asked questions

Have a question for me? I have answered some of your most frequently asked questions below. If this is not what you were looking for then I am only a phonecall away, so why not call me on 07582862870?

Q. Where will you see my horse/dog?

Equine consultations: I will come to your stables/yard or wherever your horse lives. Seeing your horse’s environment gives me information about them and their lifestyle. I will need a dry flat surface to be able to work properly.

Canine consultations (or other pets): I will come to your home where your dog feels comfortable and safe. This allows me to see their environment and collect information about their lifestyle. It also enables me to give you better post-consultation advice. Where I treat your dog will depend on them (size, behaviour, particular issue…), I always adapt to the individual.

Q. How long does a consultation last?

On average, it takes about an hour up to an hour and a half. The initial consultation usually takes a bit longer as I need to get to know your horse/dog and take their case history.

Let me know in advance if your animal is a bit nervous or fidgety, so that we can allow for extra time.

The consultation length will vary depending on your animal’s needs, but rest assured if it takes a little longer than planned you will not be charged extra. For me, it’s never about time; it’s about the quality of my treatment!

Q. Do you treat other animals?

Yes, I do. I can offer consultations for other animals including cows, goats, sheep, cats, and other small pets. If you have an unusual pet/exotic animal please message me. I am always interested in exploring new territories!

Q. Do you have to be a human trained osteopath first to treat animals?

No, the only legal requirement is that those providing animal musculoskeletal treatment for remedial care have been referred or been given permission by that animal's vet. A veterinary surgeon can refer an animal for treatment to any appropriately qualified, competent and insured practitioner.

I am fully qualified, insured with Balens, registered with RAMP and part of the IAAT.

N.B: I do NOT treat people.
